Finally. The Great Ocean Road. After a short, cold and uncomfortable night in the car in a little town on Philip Island, we started the last part of the drive to the Great Ocean Road. We had to stop for another amazing sunrise on the way to Melbourne. Some of these pictures are my favorites of this whole Australia trip so far. The sun coming up in combination with foggy mornings are just perfect.
We saw lots of wild life crossing the road on our way. Rabbits, rats and a little more spectacular: lots of koalas, a kangaroo and an echidna. It was just great driving on this road with all these stunning views! The best part was that we had to road to ourselves since it's low season and there weren't a lot of tourists.
A little stop on the road trip: Jervis Bay. We heard lots of good things about it but no one really knew what to expect... That made the surprise even bigger when we found this beautiful white sanded beach (called Murrays Beach)! It felt like we arrived at a tropical deserted beach on some tropical island. After googling it, I realized that it's even prettier in summer so I'll have to check it out in October... Jervis bay is only a 3 hour drive from Sydney so it's perfect to escape the city for a day or two. Unfortunately we only had an hour and we only saw the sunset but it was definitely a good one.
